I was introduced to this site by a colleague. I have, over the years, boasted about the beauty and charm of Taiping to friends and colleagues. We have a hill resort, many cool rivers/picnic sites, a picturesque lake gardens, great (and cheap) food and friendly people and shops and many of Malaysia's `Firsts'..railway, museum etc. Your chat site and the many contributors, not to mention the superb pictures you posted, speak volumes about the Taiping which I still feel `homesick' over even after having left it many many years ago because of work. Thank you for all the pains you have taken to start this site...and you are a Penangite, Kayes!.

I still keep in touch with a small group of Taiping classmates here in Malaysia as well as abroad..SGI Year of '63 (mind you, a very good year... 28 First Graders and 8 Medical Doctors from my class). I am going to let them know about this site. BTW, Mr Sant Singh, whose name I found among the writers, was my Geography and Art teacher. He also taught us astronomy (at Scouting) and singing (school choir). He may not remember me but I remember him as a dedicated and kind teacher. Thanks for bringing a little culture into our lives, Mr Sant Singh if you are reading this. I hear you are now in Australia.
