One of the biggest rubber factories in the country was in Kuala Kangsar. It was called Joo Seng Rubber. One of the owner's sons, David Loh was my classmate in Clifford School. This pic was of course not taken at Joo Seng Rubber. It was taken at a rubber scrap dealer in Jalan Datoh, Kuala Kangsar.

The jetty shown in this pic looks like an expansion of the old jetty where the late Sultan Idris used to park his cabin cruiser. Every time I passed that area I would take a good look at the pretty sight of a modern boat berthed beside a rustic river.

hi Gadzy, you should have visited Kuala Kangsar more often. It is a small but beautiful town and the Perak River during the rainy season is a sight to behold.

This Pavilion was built in the 1920s for watching polo matches which were played in the polo field adjacent. The clubhouse of the Iskandar Polo Club was also nearby but it was burnt down in the 1950s. In the background of this pic you can see the famous MCKK, Malay College Kuala Kangsar.
