oh dear, how can I bypass going to Maxwell Hill(Bukit Larut) for birding?
this calls for a rethink on my part.

Kayes, thanks again for reviving your "Penang, Taiping & Ipoh-talks".
It's almost a decade since i last visited TaipingTalk and it causes a longing for the times of yore; the good old days when invincibility of youth prevailed

hi Joe, everything's fine. I sent out "bulk mail" to all those who have registered at Taiping Talk and yours is one of them. I am trying to encourage people to post at TT because I know many people read it everyday. TaipingTalk.com gets an average of 500,000 hits a month and for January 2017, the actual number of hits is 496772. Therefore I know for sure many people from all over the world read TT but very very few are contributing by posting and quite a number just don't know how to post!!! I keep getting emails from readers while they should be posting their queries at the forum.

My mission is to promote Taiping, Ipoh and Penang to the world and after 18 years (and a lot of money spent), TaipingTalk.com, IpohTalk.com and PenangTalk.com are already "established" on the internet. I believe I can do more by concentrating on my "talk sites" rather than FB. For the month of January 2017, PenangTalk.com got 747507 hits while IpohTalk.com got 588597. These statistics are very encouraging and what is disappointing is that many readers do not post Sad They just want to look at the photos and read what others have posted.

I had a discouraging start at FB. My very first account at FB was hacked and it simply disappeared! In any event the format of FB does not suit my philosophy in promoting these three places I love most ...... Ipoh Taiping and Penang ..... in that order Smile

hello again Carmen, I saw your post over at the Message Board and I have replied. The better way is to post under an image ....... like here. First login to Taiping Talk and then under "add your comments", write whatever you have in mind and click on "submit" Smile

A message from Jamil Ahmad:-

"Hi Kayes,
just to add info. I was brought up 1959-1968 around the railway yards. My late father used to be the station master around that time. Those were the best childhood years. I used to mix with children of all races and we were the best of friends. 1968 my father retired and we moved to Aulong New Village."
