We used to rent this bungalow but we never slept in it. At that times it was only around 6 - 7 pm and there was a helper in the bungalow and I was already felt eerie especially when there was heavy mist and the surrounding was very quiet. After talking to the helper, we insist on moving to another bungalow and stayed there overnight.

Hopefully its not like Bates Motel. With the mist all around, the weather must be quite cool I guess. Overall, it looks like a nice place if it was not spooky.

Hi all, I can confirm there is something eerie around here. During that trip up Bukit Larut when this pic was taken, Hakim was with me. Some of you may know Hakim posts occasionally to this forum. When we were at Speedy, we decided to take the short cut to the Nest which is behind Speedy and higher. I went ahead first and as I passed a certain tree, I felt "cold" but I walked on. On my way down, I had the same sensation at the same spot. Later when I met up with Hakim he said he felt the same thing and worse, he tripped and fell at that spot and dropped his phone and he had to turn back to get it. There are definitely some X Files up there. There next time I go there I want to be accompanied by Gillian Anderson.

hi all
just a wee bit of history about Maxwell hill.
It wasnt until the second world war when the road up was widened and made suitable for Vehicles to cart up and down.A Japanese Official made his residency on the Hill when Taipng was once again declared the Administrive centre for Perak and Indonesia he put POWs to work on building of the road
Today the narrow road winds its way painfully up the hill when it was opened back in 1948 3 years after the Japanese surrender, One can just imagine the Blood sweat and lives that went into paving this road Just imagine the hollowed men in rags draging there skeletal bodies up the hill day after day with loads that weighed more than they did, it must have been a living hell in that heat.
I for one am not surprised that strange feelings occur on Maxwell hill.

I went to the Bukit Larut station at the foothills and found that the booking office was closed. I was told that the tickets for the ride up were sold out. I left feeling a bit disappointed. I wonder how to go about booking tickets ahead if I make another trip there.
