Email from Sethu G Naidu (rsgnaidu@gmail.com}

" My great grandfather, grandfather and my mother are from Matang. The house where they lived is still standing in its original state. My mother was an eye witness to the crash incident. She says she saw 2 Japanese fighter planes playing around, flying in circles as if in mock dogfight exercise, when one suddenly developed engine trouble. This crashed into the Ngah Ibrahim Fort . She heard a loud horrendous explosion and the shockwaves shock her house violently. Moments later, a truck load of soldiers drove up to the crash site, they proceeded to retrieve the dead pilot/body parts. Talking loudly all the while. They threw the body into the truck, they then stopped a few locals, ordered them to chop down a coconut tree, drank some coconut water and drove off".
