I can't remember why now, but as children we each made a wish whenever we crossed a bridge. This red bridge somehow seems to hold so much hope and promise. A good bridge.

If I am asked where is my favourite place on earth, I must say it is that area around that little red bridge in the Lake Garden. Be there in the late evening, between 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm and perhaps, you can feel what I mean. It is one of the most private parts of the garden that don't see many joggers in the late evenings. On the left of pic are trees which many birds choose to roost the night and you can hear a flurry of activity as they make their beds. The sun has long disappeared over Bukit Larut and the remaining daylight is fast overtaken by night. The air is usually still at this time and the Lake Garden is quiet. There is a hush which makes you feel God is watching and it is certainly a good time to make a wish. I am not ashamed to say I made many wishes and also many prayers. I wished and prayed for recovery from my ill health. I reached out to God and I must have been heard. Indeed it is a bridge of faith, hope and promise.

Hi Kayes. I was touched to read your very personal relationship with this beautiful bridge. I am sure we, all your friends and fans, are glad you found peace and tranquility in this little spot of the Lake Garden and that it helped you through a difficult time in your life. God bless.
