Hi Kayes,
I have just visited Taiping and the lake gardens are absolutely beautiful. I'm filled with envy for the locals who can enjoy the gardens constantly. The zoo was also a very pleasant surprise too - it's so natural and unpretendious. Absolutely lovely. The locals are very helpful and honest and I really enjoyed the simple ambience of the town. It's a lovely place to retire in, plant flowers, go for morning jogs, have tea with a friend... simple and honest living. My best regards to the lucky locals of this town...

hi Anna, I am glad you like Taiping especially the Lake Garden which is a beautiful place to take a walk or have a run. For me the best time to walk is between 6.30 and 7.30 pm when most of the walkers/joggers have gone home for dinner. Then you really have the whole place to yourself .... well almost. The day ends in a very special mood at the Lake Garden and if you are at the area where the little red bridge is, you can always feel the closeness of God and nature. The birds are getting ready for bed amongst those trees and you can hear the occasional growls of animals from the zoo. The air is usually still at that time but remains cool. Look towards Bukit Larut and you can see the last rays of the sun slowly fading.
