Hi Kayes
The old place looks great on the outside but what about the pool area, does it still have the roughcast on the sidewalls of the pool as it did back in 1961 :-)).

hi Gadzy. I went in and had a quick look. It appears to me the entire pool has been tiled and the sidewalls now look like most modern swimming pools. Won't scratch your swim trunks now

Thats great Kayes as on my first visit to the pool back in 1961 one chap dived in on top of me, his head clashed with mine and the pool turned red :-(( both of us had to be rescued from the water but as i was being extracted from the water my legs were dragged against the old Roughcast walls resulting in more Blood, after that i just went to the Burmese pool:-)).

the newly renovated pool looks very nice indeed with it's new look but i miss the nature's fresh smell & the cold shady surroundings it used to have. i'll look up old postings on it at the old taiping talk...
