It is so interesting to know that this bird, Lesser Adjutant, was present in the Taiping Zoo as far back as 1963.

Also interesting to note that this photo was most probably taken by Bee Ah Photo. Wonder if the shop is still in existence? Any idea, Kayes?

hi Blue Grass, I think Bee Ah is still there in Theatre Road. Up to the 1990s it was run by father and son and I used to see them walking to the shop from the Lake Garden area near Taman Aun Say. Nowadays, I see only the son walking to work.

The handwriting on this post card is beautiful. How I wish I can have such good handwriting. I don't even have a pen with me to start with! Smile With today's automation, I only use pen to sign letters, reports and acknowledgements of goods received. How sad? In future, wonder if there will be any handwriting class for school children.

Blue Grass, just to confirm that Bee Ah Photo is still there in Theatre Road. I checked my archives and found this pic taken in May this year. You can see Bee Ah's green signboard near the taxi.

Orange, you are right about handwriting classes for the modern school children. I also don't write much nowadays except to sign things. Everything else is done on the iMac, Dopod or iPod Touch. An old friend showed me what I wrote in her "autograph book" in 1964 and I was amazed to see my own handwriting. I am unable to write like that anymore Smile

This post card reminds me of the song "Return to Sender".

We know if our letters or post cards are safely delivered. Even if they are not, we receive messages like:

Return to sender
Address unknown
No such number, no such zone .....

With messages like these, we know the person can not reached but we still can find ways to contact him or her. But what about the present day's e-mail? If the person is not there to open the e-mail and others don't know his or her password? We do not know what happen to that person and there's no way to reach him. Sad .....

Kayes, "Always On My Mind" by Elvis is my all time favourite.
