The British are good in maintaining good environments and infrastructures. Those days when you cycle along Swettenham Road ( Jalan Istana ) and Jalan Treacher where the Methodist School and end up to the Muzeum. Eventhough in Malaysia but you feel it like oversea. But now upside down. Maybe the attitude and the religious belief of those new town planner more to destructive.

Malaysia (Malaya then) is rich in tin-ore, rubber and spices. Good road system and railway were constructed to transport these. Schools were built by missionaries. Hill resorts were built to getaway from the tropical heat. Laws and orders were very much needed, regardless whether one's in own country or otherwise.

As the Chinese saying says: "Kow Dow Thor Hai Ouk." - "Dog House (kennel) is always a home." It means it's still our home even though it's messy. No one is allowed to pass any remark or criticise what one does to his/her own territory.
If you enter any Chinese Taoist home, you will notice there is a "Theen Shen" (Heaven God) at the house's entrance, "Dey Che" (Ground Chief) on the living hall's floor, Ancestral alter to pray to one's ancestors, "Choe Choi" (Kitchen God) on kitchen's wall. It's their home and they have every right to do what they believe in. As a non-believer, we may think otherwise.

Good day. We do respect everyone belief, culture and religion. In management anywhere in the world will never miss out the word "Attitude" This we can build up . Once upon a time in Malaysia, the RMAF Base Butterworth( Mata Kuching) and Trendak Camp Malacca is just like a colonial town with its best infrastructure, panorama and it goes without saying "cleanliness" . Now it turns into (just next to squatters area)..
Taipingites please keep the beautiful, peaceful, breathtaking panorama of Taiping as what the British left to us. Make " A good maintenance " our mission. Best regards to all.
